Trust and safety

What we check, what we cannot check, and how to protect yourself while job hunting.

No legitimate employer ever asks for money

Not for training. Not for a security deposit. Not for equipment you will “be reimbursed for”. Not for a background check. If anyone contacting you about a job asks you to pay, transfer, or receive and forward money, it is a scam — stop, and report it to us.

Other signals worth slowing down for

  • An offer arriving without any interview.
  • Pressure to decide within hours, or to keep the offer confidential.
  • Interviews conducted only over a chat app, from a personal email address.
  • A salary far above the market rate for the work described.

What we verify

Companies can submit registration details for verification. Once our team confirms them, the company shows a Verified tick next to its name — on its job listings, its company page, and in search results — and its new jobs go live without waiting for review. Everyone else has each new job checked by a moderator before it goes live.

Verification confirms that a company exists and that the person posting is connected to it. It is not a judgement about whether they are a good employer — that is what reviews are for.

What happens when you report something

Reports go into a moderation queue ordered by severity, not by age, so serious flags are seen first. A moderator reviews the content itself, not only the report. We deliberately do not act on a single unverified flag: that turns the report button into a weapon.

Every moderation action is written to an append-only audit log with the reason attached, and you are told the outcome of anything you report.

Your data

  • Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Nobody at Growtriz can read yours.
  • Resumes are stored in object storage under randomised names, never guessable from your profile.
  • A recruiter can open your resume only if you applied to their job, or if your profile is discoverable and you allowed it. That check runs on the server on every request.
  • Fields you mark private are removed before the response is serialised — not hidden in the interface.

What we cannot promise

We cannot guarantee that every listing is accurate, that an employer will reply, or that a described role matches the job you would actually do. Verification and moderation reduce that risk substantially. They do not eliminate it, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
